Jasminka Jovanovska, the mother of the cross-dressing SDSM Government affiliated TV “mogul” Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13, is attempting to get out of her promise to give up a public function she received in February.
Jovanovska’s appointment to the Commission for access to public information was seen as another example of rampant nepotism by the SDSM – DUI coalition. She was appointed to the high office while her son is hiring pro – SDSM journalist in his 1TV station, which serves as one of the main mouth-pieces for the Zoran Zaev Government.
After being called out for her appointment, Jovanovska promised that she will resign in order to set standards against corruption and to reinforce the merit system in public sector hiring.
I would like to inform the public that, due to personal and family reasons, I have decided to resign. I strongly condemn all biased comments analyzing me and my entire family. I adhere to the law and would like to serve as example to others, said Jovanovska then.
But, Vecer has learnt that she is trying to keep her position with legalistic maneuvering. Jovanovska submitted a letter informing the Parliament Appointments Commission that she is withdrawing from her post. But, in response she was informed that the Commission can’t process her request, only the Parliament’s legal affairs department can. With this, she has remained in her position for a month and a half after she annouced she will resign, and is collecting her significant public sector salary. She was nominated for the position by powerful SDSM member of Parliament Aleksandar Kiracovski.
Her son, who goes under the name Boki 13 and is now busy promoting a new style of aluminium-wear, has hired some of the loudest pro – SDSM journalist in the country such as Aco Kabranov, Borjan Jovanovski, Saso Ordanoski and Aleksandar Comovski. His 1TV station was recently placed under investigation to determine the actual source of funding, after doubts that Boki 13 is just the public face for the actual SDSM affiliated owners of the television. He was also accused of racketeering by a prominent Skopje developer who claimed that Boki 13 asked to receive an apartment in one of his buildings as a gift in order not to run a report critical of his company.
