The EU Member States have approved the composition of the new EU Commission. As the EU Council announced on Monday, this clears the way for Wednesday’s vote in the European Parliament on the new EU executive, which consists of 26 Commissioners and German President Ursula von der Leyen. Only if the MEPs give the green light, the new Commission can start work as planned on 1 December.
