The Austrian conservative OVP party decisively won the general elections putting its leader Sebastian Kurz on track to form his second Government, after his first coalition collapsed due to the Ibiza scandal.

OVP won 37.2 percent of the votes, far ahead of the social-democratic SPO party with 22 percent. The far right FPO party, which was in the first Kurz coalition, lost some of its support due to the scandal and won 16 percent of the vote.

The Greens are also close to being a factor in the coalition making with 14.3 percent of the votes.
