According to Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, the US military has used precision strikes in response to a string of attacks against US bases in Iraq.

In these strikes by Iranian-backed militias, three US soldiers were hurt, one critically, Austin said on Monday night. “Necessary and proportionate” strikes were conducted against three bases utilized by these militias, per US President Joe Biden’s directives.

The US Secretary of Defense issued a warning of more attacks against US soldiers in the area at the same time.

He declared that the US was ready and willing to take the required actions to safeguard US people and property.
