Vardar and the Polish Kielce handball team drew their European Champions League match in Skopje 28 – 28.
Vardar was handicapped with the absence of Kristopans, and the Polish team used this to play an even game against the defending European champion. At halftime the game was tied 17:16. Vardar came out weak on the attack in the second half, allowing Kielce to turn the game its way and get a three goals lead.
Fortunately Gedban was stellar on the goal, and Vardar was able to even the score. in the final seconds Skube had a chance to win it all for Vardar, but he missed and the teams split the points.
The two teams meet again next week in Poland.
