Slovenia is proposing that the European Union admits all Balkan countries by 2030, the Financial Times reports.
The proposal is expected to be raised at the coming EU summit with the Balkan countries, but took other EU member states by surprise given the problems the region and the EU are facing. Accession talks in with the region have all but stopped, with Serbia and Montenegro delayed and Macedonia and Albania unable to even begin the negotiations.
