The Macedonian Chamber of Commerce (SKM) warned the Government on the dire situation in the agriculture sector, and called on it to allow import of milk from Turkey, in order to capitalize on export opportunities toward Russia.
We demand an intervention in production of primary materials, and the option to import milk, which is currently lacking. There is great opportunity of export of processed products to Russia. We also want financial support for large, professional agricultural producers to reverse the trend of declining acreage and drop in production of both vegetable and animal products, said Vasko Ristovski from the Agriculture Chamber in the Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber representatives met with Agriculture Minister Trajan Dimkovski to discuss the situation which they described as dire.
