After the issued decision (on September 15) for demolition of nine houses just below the “Radika” hotel near the village Leunovo, Mavrovo, which was enforceable and no one acted on, the second instance commission of the Government for inspection supervision annulled this decision these days. Following the complaint filed by the investor “Radika Resort”, owned by Kosovo citizen Sherif Ramuka, against whom there are criminal charges for these buildings, the commission found a violation of the procedure of the authorized construction inspector of the Municipality of Mavrovo Rostuse.

According to the Government, not the one who built illegally in Leunovo, but the one who issued the demolition decision is guilty.

17 villas have already been built just below the Radika Hotel, nine are under construction, and the plan is to build a total of 87 typical buildings on land that the Municipality of Mavrovo Rostuse sold to the owner of the Radika Hotel. The investor, according to the decision of the construction inspector from the Municipality of Mavrovo Rostuse, does not have a building permit and had 15 days to demolish the illegal buildings on his own. Of course, neither he nor the municipality did that, and the investor continued with the construction despite the issued demolition decision.

The second instance commission assessed that the municipal construction inspector had incompletely determined the factual situation and returned the case for reconsideration.

The locals and the owners of the cottages have been having problems with water supply for a long time. Due to that, the utility company of the municipality issued a moratorium on construction in this part until the problem with the water supply is solved.

Elektrani na Makedonija, the state-owned company that manages Lake Mavrovo, also has a negative opinion about construction in that part of the coast because it is in the no-construction zone according to the elevation of the lake level.
