In the days when the tobacco farmers should be the happiest and when they should be payed for their labor, they are currently living their most difficult days in the last decade, said Cvetan Tripunovski from VMRO-DPMNE.

A kilogram of tobacco is purchased for 150 denars. This is not even enough to cover the basic costs for tobacco farmers, let alone to earn something. From the beginning until now, tobacco is priced one to two classes lower. Tobacco farmers are humiliated, and their labor is underestimated. Also, the deductions per kilogram of tobacco are 8 percent and more, only for comparison, in previous years the deductions were around 5 percent.

A way is being sought for tobacco farmers to be damaged, and the government, through the ridiculous statements of the Minister of Agriculture, stands aside, sees and does nothing, Tripunovski said.
