DUI leader Ali Ahmeti ticked off all the institutions which ethnic Albanians assumed under his mandate, and promised that he will continue to deliver for the Albanian cause in Macedonia.

So far we accomplished the Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Ombudsman, parliament Speaker. This is the difference between us and the smaller (Albanian) parties. I, Ali Ahmeti, don’t make calculations whether I will win the next elections. I work with my associates to make good deeds which benefit the Albanians, and let the citizens decide who they will vote for, said Ahmeti during a pre-election meeting in Skopje.

Ahmeti’s DUI party negotiated with its coalition partner SDSM a deal to support its candidate Stevo Pendarovski for President. In exchange, it is expected that Pendarovski, if he wins, will appoint an ethnic Albanian Governor of the Central Bank, promote a number of ethnic Albanian generals in the Macedonian Army and a series of other concessions.
