Amdi Bajram, leader of the Roma Alliance of Macedonia, dismissed reports that he is negotiating a return to the VMRO-DPMNE led coalition which he abandoned in 2017.

Bajram spoke to the press after VMRO leader Hristijan Mickoski said that a number of parties which currently sit with SDSM have approached VMRO as the early general elections were called, and have asked for an opportunity to jump ship. Bajram’s dedication to SDSM is conditional, though, as he said that his party will never not be with the Government.

That is a lie. I have nothing to do with them. I’m allied with SDSM and will remain here. The motto of the Roma Alliance is that we are always with the Government. Titanic sank and I moved on to another ship, said Bajram.

He spent more than a decade in alliance with VMRO-DPMNE and even endured having his own son Elvis badly beaten by thugs associated with his SDSM rival Kurto Dudus in the 2017 elections, but then quickly moved to bolster the SDSM majority in Parliament.
