A poll by the Detector TV program shows that the opposition vMRO-DPMNE party leads the ruling SDSM by 2 points – 21.1 percent to 18.1 percent.
The poll shows that among the ethnic Albanian parties, DUI still has the lead, with 4.5 percent ahead of its closest challenger – the Alliance of Albanians with 2.8 percent.
This is the second poll in one week to show VMRO leading SDSM. A MKD.mk Market Vision poll had VMRO with 39.8 percent against 31.2 percent for SDSM, but also revealed a huge number of voters who refuse to answer who they will vote for.
The results are seen as influencing Prime Minister Zoran Zaev to refuse holding early elections as he insists that the vote is held in October or even December 2020, which is the latest possible date.
