Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov participated Tuesday in Luxembourg at the meeting of the European Ministers from the Party of European Socialists (PES), where he once again explained why Macedonia deserves to launch EU accession talks.

It is a decision on North Macedonia, a country that has been waiting for negotiations with the EU for 14 years, resolving the ‘impossible’ outside and making a full democratic turnaround at home. But it is also about EU enlargement policy and the European perspective for the Balkans itself. Basically, it’s about whether the EU will leave the lighthouse on, Dimitrov told the ministers, according to MoFA’s statement.

The meeting, chaired by Germany’s Minister of State for Europe Michael Roth, was held just before the start of the EU General Affairs Council.
