The president of Alternativa, Afrim Gashi, contends that DUI and SDSM are unable to reach a consensus on the significance of the Self-Determination party and its president, Albin Kurti, in Macedonian politics. Gashi made these comments in response to the meeting between the general secretary of SDSM, Mile Zecevic, and the organizational secretary of Self-Determination, Alim Rama, held in Pristina. According to Gashi, Ali Ahmeti views Albin Kurti positively only when it aligns with DUI’s interests. Gashi further asserts that leaders in Tirana and Pristina refrain from interfering in the decisions of Macedonian political parties, particularly during a crucial moment for the Alliance for the Albanians.
Details about whether the meeting in Pristina addressed the current political developments in Macedonia remain undisclosed by both SDSM and Self-Determination. They only communicated that the representatives discussed cooperation between the two parties as joint members of the social democratic platform.
