The Kod investigative program reported on a claim from AVMU media regulator, which had several investigations into the work of Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13’s 1TV station, based on earlier allegations of extortion. According to AVMU, Boki 13 received a police provided security detail, which he demanded as 1TV owner.
AVMU is using this to investigate the ownership of 1TV, which listed Boki 13’s father and another person, but not Boki himself, which is a violation of AVMU regulation. But this raised a bigger issue in the public – one of whether the police was protecting Boki 13 while he was on his extortion runs and even while the money, which state prosecutors claim were paid in cash, were being moved around.
The Interior Ministry today denied that Boki 13 was provided security and demanded that AVMU director Zoran Trajcevski stops spreading this information. Trajcevski replied that he is still waiting for an official response from the Interior Ministry.
