MP Antonio Milososki informed Tuesday that, as chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, he had sent letters to his counterparts Pia Dijkstra (Netherlands) and Michael Jensen (Denmark) urging their parliaments to support a decision on a date for negotiations with the European Union, as he says, a decision that Macedonia deserved back in 2009, and it deserves today!

According to Milososki, the positive decision of the EU Council in October is the only logical outcome after 10 positive recommendations from the European Commission.

I am aware of the frequent remarks that some EU members make at the expense of widespread corruption affairs and selective rule of law, but these challenges should be seen as an additional motive for Macedonia to begin negotiations on Chapters 23 and 24 as soon as possible, because without start of negotiations, these problems will become greater, and the citizens and the economy will suffer the negative consequences. Macedonian citizens deserve a positive decision from Brussels. It will be very important if the first intergovernmental conference between the EC and the Macedonian government, which is also considered an official start of negotiations, takes place by the end of 2019. Any further postponement of the intergovernmental conference would be an additional devaluation of the European integration process, Milososki said.
