A man from Gostivar faces up to 10 years in prison after he set fire to three dozen old vehicle tires near the city entrance.

Even citizens of a city where the poorest people routinely use rubber tires to heat their homes were shocked by the plume of black, likely carcinogenic smoke, which rose above the city on Saturday. Police was sent to the location and the owner of the tires now faces between three and 10 years in prison for polluting the environment.
