The closure of embassies is a diplomatic anti-reform, and the closure of the embassy in Brazil is a move that damages Macedonia’s interests, MP Antonio Milososki said, after President Stevo Pendarovski announced the closure of 4-5 Macedonian, including the one in Brazil in an interview with  TV Sitel on Wednesday.

According to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the other embassies are likely to be the embassies in Kazakhstan, Estonia, Norway and / or Denmark. Pendarovski’s explanation was that this is because these countries do not have their own embassies in Macedonia or we do not have extensive trade exchange with them. This is a very superficial explanation for such an anti-reform move for the Macedonian diplomatic network, and the result will be only a setback in the capacity to promote Macedonia’s economic and political interests internationally, Milososki said.

According to Milososki, closing the embassy in Brasilia is a diplomatic short-sightedness that, because of the impatience with certain personnel solutions, cannot see the potential of Brazil’s population of 210 million, nor the significance of our only diplomatic mission on the continent South America which has 13 states and a market of 450 million inhabitants.
