VMRO-DPMNE deputy leader Aleksandar Nikoloski said that the process of putting together a new majority in this Parliament has shifted toward finding a majority for new elections. Nikoloski echoed comments from party leader Hristijan Mickoski earlier today that running the country through this Parliament, but with a VMRO led majority, will not be a stable option
Calling for early elections requires a majority in Parliament so it all comes down to the same thing. We urge the parties in Parliament to support us in calling early elections and we hope for support from all sides, Nikoloski said, following the hearing in a slander trial that Zoran Zaev launched against him.
Zaev is suing Nikoloski for his claim that Zaev is at the top of the criminal pyramid uncovered in the Racket trial. According to Nikoloski, Zaev coordinated the group around Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, which extorted over 20 million EUR from businessmen it targeted.
There is no formal denial from Zaev about my claims, Nikoloski said.
