SDSM and the government coalition won more votes for councilors from the opposition and therefore the parliamentary majority will not vote for snap early elections because the state is more important than Mickoski’s rage, said SDSM.

The ruling party reacted to the claim of the opposition leader Hristijan Mickoski, who pointed out that VMRO-DPMNE won more votes than SDSM in voting for the councilor lists in the just concluded local elections in Macedonia.

SDSM stressed that the parliamentary majority is stable and behaves responsibly towards the future of the state and the people.

On behalf of the votes of the citizens won by the government coalition which are more than the votes of the opposition, on behalf of the need for the country to move forward in resolving the consequences of the pandemic and in facing the energy crisis, on behalf of the need to make every effort to start negotiations with the EU, this parliamentary majority will not put the country at risk and will not vote for snap early parliamentary elections, added SDSM.

Citizens need a government that delivers results, especially in times of pandemic and energy crisis, a government that has a Euro-Atlantic course of action and that will not hamper the European integration process, the party said in a statement.
