Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani dismissed reports of a rift in his DUI party, after media outlets claimed that independent minded member of Parliament Izet Mexhiti is preparing to challenge Osmani and another top DUI Government official – Artan Grubi – and to vote for their removal. Given the thin majority of just one vote over the bare minimum held by the SDSM – DUI – BESA coalition, this could badly affect the Government.

There is no rift in DUI and there is nothing unusual going on in the party. DUI has always maintained a lively debate, with differences of opinion, sometimes very loud ones. That is the beauty of working in DUI and our leader encourages it. But all these debates always end up within the party, and I believe that will be the case this time as well, Osmani said.
