Parliament passed the Law on the Inspectorate on the Use of Languages as part of Monday’s afternoon work at its 114th session.
During the debate, lawmakers from the opposition demanded that this item be postponed indefinitely until the final version of the Venice Commission report was received due to what they said was the connection of this legal solution to the Law on the Use of Languages. They pointed out that the Venice Commission had objections to the Law on Languages and added that legislative decisions that had serious consequences for all should not be speed up.
For the ruling parties, the Law on the Use of Languages is enacted to oversee the application of the Law on the Use of Languages and to guarantee equality and impartiality in the implementation of inspection, as well as the consistent application of the Law on the Use of Languages.
