President Stevo Pendarovski held a meeting on Wednesday with Saudi Arabia’s Consultative Assembly (Shura Council) Speaker, Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, expressing contentment with the progress of bilateral relations.

Both countries have seen an escalation in collaboration over recent years, marked by numerous joint activities. President Pendarovski highlighted the importance of bolstering parliamentary cooperation, considering it a significant aspect of the bilateral relationship, as mentioned in the President’s Office press release. The conversation encompassed discussions about the current Middle Eastern scenario, recognizing Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in the Arab world.

Pendarovski emphasized Macedonia’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s efforts in stabilizing the region, underscoring Skopje’s alignment of foreign policy with EU and NATO allies.

Moreover, the President conveyed congratulations to the Saudi Speaker for securing the bid to host the 2030 EXPO. The forthcoming EXPO 2030 is anticipated to enhance bilateral relations, impacting various sectors of the Macedonian economy such as energy, tourism, agriculture, food processing, real estate, and industry, according to the press release.
