Despite yesterday’s announcements by the Government that an agreement was reached for Serbia to lift the ban on wheat, corn and raw sunflower oil exports to our country, in the decision after the session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, sunflower oil is not mentioned anywhere.

A statement issued by the Serbian government on its official website after the session mentioned only wheat and corn.

Macedonian producers of cooking oil, who mainly buy it unrefined from Serbia, have recently stated that they are looking forward to the decision to continue importing from Serbia.

The director of the Vitaminka factory, which also owns the Brilliant cooking oil factory, Simon Naumovski, says they are in a real panic.

Frankly, we are in a panic. Our supplier from Vojvodina told us that he could not supply us with oil because the Serbian government had not made a decision to lift the export ban. We have been calling everywhere since this morning. We negotiate with traders from Ukraine, Hungary and Bulgaria. We need 200 tons of oil per month, says Naumovski.

Regarding the prices, he emphasized that it is a stock exchange product that cannot be influenced in terms of price.
