A large statue of a bike was placed recently in Skopje, on the Partizanski Odredi boulevard, to honor all bikes that are being stolen in the city. The artists said that an estimated 70.000 bikes were stolen in the Macedonian capital over the past 10 years.
That was a month ago. Today it was reported that the seat and the handle are gone. Given that the police finds, on average, one out of a thousand stolen actual bikes, nobody is getting their hopes up that the seat and the handle will be found.
