Teachers will go on strike on April 11th. The decision comes after the Government rejected demands from the SONK union for a 18.5 percent wage increase to keep up with inflation and the increase in the minimum wage.

The strike begins on April 11th, and its duration will depend on the negotiations with the Government. Our salaries of 25,000 denars (420 EUR) are not sufficient to meet basic monthly needs, said SONK President Jakim Nedelkov.

It will apply to all schools and kindergartens. The Government threatened to hire replacement teachers.
