State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption President Biljana Ivanovska announced the operational status of the electronic asset declarations software, urging all public officials to use it. In an interview, she called for the anti-corruption commission’s continued capacity strengthening and emphasized the need for a new competency-based systematization. Ivanovska mentioned the commission’s collaboration with 80% of institutions but highlighted non-compliance by some, resulting in fines. A list of such entities will be published during the current commission’s final session. Ivanovska also mentioned upcoming briefings on cases “Lottery” and “Bechtel and Enka,” focusing on the latter’s supervision selection. She expressed concern about the lack of seriousness in the fight against corruption and mentioned preparing an initiative regarding the “balancer” tool’s legality and administration employment. Regarding M-NAV developments, she stressed evaluating individuals based on merit rather than family ties. The anti-corruption commission won’t open a case on M-NAV due to its mandate’s conclusion, focusing on closing existing cases.
