VMRO-DPMNE raised serious objections about the way the investigation into SDSM official Frosina Remenski is conducted. Remenski refused to resign as Deputy Speaker of Parliament and can have a decisive role in the future talks about the law on state prosecutors, which gives her a strong position to pressure those investigating her. Meanwhile, her husband Jovce Remenski remains as head of the anti-terrorism unit in the Interior Ministry and has a key voice in the creation of the new ANB security agency.

There is no greater proof that Zaev, prosecutor Vilma Ruskoska and Remenski are colluding than the fact that Frosina Remenski will continue to have a say in the new law on state prosecutors. This law directly affects the work of prosecutor Ruskoska, who is investigating Remenski, VMRO-DPMNE said in its press release.

SDSM insisted that the fact that Remenski has been temporarily suspended from her positions in the party is enough to guarantee a thorough investigation and a fair trial. But the opposition insists that, given her actual power, the investigation is going to be a sham.

There is no doubt we have this huge potential of abuse of information and the institutions. Jovce Remenski needs to be suspended from his position in the Interior Ministry. He continues to hold highest level of access to classified information, making him a huge potential risk to the investigation into the racketeering scandal. The investigation needs to focus on whether Frosina Remenski was using her husband to collect intelligence information and abusing them for racketeering, VMRO-DPMNE said.

Remenski is charged with using her influence to pressure businessmen to give at least a million EUR to a bogus charity run by her friend Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13.
