Outgoing Prime Minister Zoran Zaev reacted to VMRO-DPMNE Vice-President Aleksandar Nikoloski’s dilemma on whether the outgoing Prime Minister really reported the “Racket” case and if there was a report that he did it.
The outgoing prime minister does not remember exactly when he reported the “Racket” case. He said Monday that he would have to check his agenda to see when that happened.
Allow me to check my agenda to see exactly what was the date, time, though that should be stated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. But I’ll give the exact details, outgoing PM Zaev said.
Nikoloski said that If Zaev really reported the case to state prosecutors there must be some written trail that he really did that.
Nikoloski is convinced that the “Racket” case leads directly to the top government leadership, and the proof of that is the meeting between Health Minister Venko Filpce and businessman Orce Kamcev at Bojan Jovanovski’s home.
Nikoloski’s thesis is also supported by the testimony of the second defendant in the “Racket” case, and now convicted Zoran Mileski Kiceec, who admitted before Ruskoska that the government was at the forefront with Boki 13.
For the first time in the public, Venko Filipce’s name as a man who was in contact with the racketeers of his government boss, Boki 13 and Katica Janeva, was mentioned at a second hearing in the “Racket” case, in which Orce Kamcev was called as a witness who reported the extortion scheme, writes Infomax.
According to the news portal, there was not only one meeting between Boki, Filipce and Kamcev but more. The aim was to conclude a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Health and Orce Kamcev.
Filipce and Boki 13 persuaded Kamcev to buy the City Hospital “September 8” in the amount equal to money requested. The businessman was required to enter into a partnership with Filipce for about 10m euros, with a certain percentage being paid in cash before the PPP was concluded. “The cash register” would be Boki until the deal is fulfilled, Infomax writes.
In addition to this case, the Minister of Health is also linked to the “Racket 2” affair in which, according to unofficial information, the Director of the Healthcare Fund Dan Doncev is involved.
The case is about exerting pressure on a domestic company, abusing positions and powers to deter a global healthcare giant, a Swedish company, from investing in Macedonia.
VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski said in an interview with RFE that the opposition is not satisfied with how the case has been handled so far, and he, therefore, noted that if this process soon diverged from reality, the public would learn what was actually happening.
We are waiting to see how the investigation develops. We are not satisfied with what we’ve seen so far, on the contrary, this is a clear cover up in order to conceal the real creator of the entire scandal. Soon, if we see that the case continues to be covered up, the public will witness what was happening, Mickoski told RFE.
Bojan Jovanovski’s lawyer said on Monday that Boki 13’s testimony in relation to the International Association lasted five hours and that he told the whole truth supported by facts and evidence.
For every reason, for every word that is in the order for conducting an investigation, he presented with a lot of facts, not with rumors, I think that his statement was useful, complete and comprehensive, said Dukovski.
Unanswered questions
Who in the Government warned Boki 13 that he is under investigation?
What remains unanswered is also the question of why there is no investigation into “Racket 2”, whose tentacles lead to Strumica, and the outgoing prime minister and his health minister.
What did the police look for at Remenski’s home, and what did they find?
