Following the dismissal of Saso Vasilevski as manager of MEPSO, journalist Ljupco Zikov was nominated to take the position of the financial manager of this lucrative state ran energy company.

Zikov was mentioned as a likely MEPSO financial manager in August 2017, after Zaev’s take over of the Government, but the proposal caused controversy over the Government’s influence over the media and he withdrew his name.

Vasilevski was dismissed as part of Zaev’s “purge”, as allegations grow that he cashed in on his close relationship with disgraced Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva.
