Several media outlets, which are usually relied on to project winners of US elections, today, in a coordinated move, declared Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 presidential elections. An hour before, President Donald Trump tweeted out that he won the elections, and announced a press conference for later in the day.

America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me, Biden was quick to declare.

The move to declare Biden the winner, even as several of the key states are still counting the votes and Trump is planning a legal challenge, also prompted a number of world leaders to congratulate to Biden. This includes British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis…

In Macedonia, the opposition VMRO-DPMNE party said that it congratulates Biden and wishes him a lot of success. “We hope that your policies in the international arena will bring peace and stability and will secure prosperity across the world and in our region. The world is going through a difficult period, possibly the most difficult since the Second World War, and it requires determination, bold steps and changes. Anyone individually can do good, but all together and united toward our shared goals, we can achieve greatness, VMRO-DPMNE said in its press release.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and his coalition partner Ali Ahmeti from the DUI party also congratulated Biden on the elections. Zaev said that he is certain the strategic alliance will continue to deepen and that the future is bright. Ahmeti said that “our friendship with the United States is eternal”.
