German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned that the world order is falling apart, but that it does not mean that it should be destroyed. As Hina reported, Merkel has criticized the nationalist policies of US President Donald Trump.

We must fight for Europe, we must fight for multilateralism, against those who think they can do it alone, Merkel said at the Munich Security Conference.

Berlin is concerned about multilateral co-operation following the withdrawal of the United States under the Trump administration from several international treaties, including the Paris Climate Agreement and the Iranian nuclear deal, both signed in 2015.

Rarely had there been so many disagreements in the US and Germany’s history, they are currently arguing over Iran, defense costs, the Nord Stream pipeline, which is supposed to bring Russian gas to Germany.
