Over 11,000 people signed a petition initiated yesterday to drop the newly designed jerseys for the Macedonian national football team for its first ever European Championship.

The jerseys are stripped of the name of the country or of any recognizable national symbol, except for a faint drawing of a lynx. The previous jerseys had the yellow sun symbol from the flag over a red background – and the current style does not even combine the red and the yellow.
