Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic said in an interview with TV Happy that there is no solution for Kosovo and Metohija if it is not accepted by the majority of Serbs, Tanjug reports.

He added that no solution is currently being discussed because there are no talks between Belgrade and Pristina.

“I said it a hundred times. I will not play as in Macedonia with a consultative referendum where people said they are “against”, and still lawmakers voted “for”. I think it’s a good deal for them, I saluted it, but the way it’s done, I would never do it,” said Vucic told TV Happy.

He added that when the referendum fails, it can only be concluded that the referendum failed and to announce it to the public in a democratic way.

“If there is any referendum in Serbia, if we get 49% and the other party 54%, I will resign and say that the referendum in accordance with the Constitution and the laws failed, the citizens opted for another option,” Vucic said.

The Serbian President stressed that the people are the bearers of supreme sovereignty and one cannot go against the people.
