Long lines have started forming at gas stations across Macedonia. Rumors that the regulated price of gasoline will be increased heavily in the coming days have enticed some gas stations to limit the amount of gas an individual motorist can buy.
Telma TV, which is owned by the biggest chain of gas stations Makpetrol, said that the company is calling on motorists not to stockpile gas. It has limited purchases to 10 to 20 EUR in some cities like Tetovo, and has banned purchases in cans. The company insisted that it is operating at a loss, given the difference between the market price and the regulated price at which they can sell petrol.
