The Regulatory Energy Committee (RKE) meets today to determine the new gas prices, set under a new regulatory model introduced after the long serving contract with Hellenic Petroleum expired.
For a brief period of time retailers were able to set their own prices, which didn’t bring dramatic changes to the market. RKE is expected to increase the allowed profits to 4.6 denars per liter from the current level of 3.2 denars, while transportation costs will be valued at 0.75 denars per liter.
Chief criteria which will determine the price are the value of the dollar and the crude oil prices at the global markets.
