Agriculture Minister Ljupco Nikolovski today announced a mission to Serbia where he will try to obtain more grains. Europe and the wider region are facing food shortages due to the war in Ukraine, and Serbia is one of the few Balkan countries that have wheat and corn to spare.
We will discuss a plan to determine the rate of deliveries. We will see if we need 50 tons of wheat or what the actual needs are, Nikolovski said.
Serbia banned exports of grains to protect its own food supply, but could be open to make exemptions for Macedonia and other neighbors.
