The September salary with the promised five percent increase will be paid within the legal timeframe. Health, social, education workers, police, defense and the entire public sector will receive a five percent pay raise, the Government said.

According to the government’s press release, the salary increase is foreseen in the 2019 Initial Budget, and the law which allows it in a shortened procedure is expected to pass in Parliament within the next few days.

This, reads the press release, is the third increase in salaries in healthcare and second in the army and education and kindergartens.

The measures for increasing the salaries also include subsidizing the contributions from compulsory social insurance, for which MKD 400 million will be allocated with the 2019 budget rebalance, according to the Government.
