Former SDSM member of Parliament Safet Bisevac expressed serious doubt that the outgoing Prime Minister Zoran Zaev really reported the Racket scandal to state prosecutors.

Zaev frequently makes this claim, that he is not involved in the racketeering of businessmen that was carried out by his close ally Katica Janeva, but that, in fact, as soon as he heard about what was going on, he reported the case to the prosecutors. Zaev acknowledged meeting businessman Jordan Orce Kamcev, who complained that he is pressured by Janeva and is being forced to pay millions to her, as well as meeting Janeva and her accomplices. According to media leaks, Zaev then warned the racketeers that Kamcev is trying to report their activities and they may end up in prison. According to Zaev’s version of events, he immediately went to another loyal prosecutor Vilma Ruskoska and reported Janeva and her accomplices to her. This version contrasts with the fact that Zaev kept promoting Janeva’s candidacy to become a permanent Special Prosecutor.

The Prime Minister says that he reported the extortion. But there is no note of him making a report. Ruskoska must’ve made a report. If there were such a note, Zoran Zaev would have produced it six times by now. There is a procedure when you report a crime, you don’t just do it by the phone, said Bisevac, who was Zaev’s member of Parliament before turning on his SDSM party.

The trial in the Racket case began this week and already one of Janeva’s accomplices, Zoran Mileski – Zoki Kiceec, was sentenced to three years in prison after admitting his guilt. Janeva and Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13 remain in the dock, and Kamcev is expected to testify tomorrow.
