Former Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska was ordered to report to prison to begin serving out her four year sentence on July 1st.
Today a judge accepted her request to have the carrying out of the sentence postponed on the count of her recently becoming a mother, but the stay is for less than a month.
Jankuloska was sentenced to prison in one of the politically driven case initiated by the Special Prosecutor’s Office, over the purchase of an armored Mercedes which is being used to transport visiting foreign dignitaries. Since the sentencing, the vehicle was used by Angela Merkel, Theresa May and a host of other visitors.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court said it will soon make its decision on the case, after former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski requested that the verdict and the overall trial is re-examined.
