The NATO North Atlantic Council will visit Skopje on Monday, to meet with for a session of its integration council. The meeting will be focused on Macedonia’s expected entry into NATO.

This is the second time the NAC has visited Macedonia for a meeting – the first such case was in 2003, again with the purpose to encourage Macedonia’s future membership.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will lead the 40 member delegation in meetings with the Macedonian leadership. Stoltenberg hopes that the ratification of Macedonia’s accession by all member states, which is half finished, will be completed by the end of the year.
