Transparency International’s chart on the Corruption Perceptions Index from 2004 to 2020 shows how corruption moved during the rule of SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE.

Thus, in 2006, before VMRO-DPMNE led by Gruevski came to power, the corruption index was 105.

In just two years under his leadership the corruption index dropped to 84 and then moved around 70.

There is a sharp increase after SDSM led by Zaev come to power in 2016. In the first year of his rule the index is 90, then rises to 107, to reach 111 in 2020.

This is one of the biggest reasons that Macedonia does not get a date for negotiations supplemented by the phrase that it is a “hybrid regime”.

Bulgaria is just one of the reasons why there is no date and the real one is in these numbers and parameters.
