The US Senate voted on Monday evening to end the debate on the proposal to ratify Macedonia’s accession to NATO.

The vote was 82 to 2, and it allows a final vote on Tuesday. It is widely expected that the Senate will ratify the accession protocol. It was also expected that the US will be the last country to do so, but the political crisis in Spain led to delays in the Spanish Congress, meaning that Macedonia will likely not be a full NATO member in time for the December London summit, but will officially join the Alliance sometime in 2020.
