Witnesses during the latest April 27 trial hearing supported the defense of former Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski for his actions during the 2017 incident in the Parliament. They testified that Veljanoski was obliged to allow BESA member of Parliament Zekirija Ibraimi speak, since he was a deputy head of the party’s group.
Ibraimi performed the Albanian national anthem instead, which provoked the protesters outside of the Parliament. His move greatly contributed to the subsequent incident.
Ibraimi was registered to speak and Speaker Veljanoski had no choice but to allow him. He could not have known what Ibraimi will do, said member of Parliament Vladimir Gjorcev.
