Tje State Department ordered all non-essential American diplomatic personnel in Iraq to leave the country immediately.

The order comes as the US sent aircraft carriers toward Iran and have escalated rhetoric between the two countries. This, coupled with a visit by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Europe to push for a joint position on Iran has raised fears that a confrontation in the critical region may be close.
