Kosovan media outlets are reporting that the country is prepared to sell Macedonia coal needed to supply the REK Bitola coal plant, that currently has only minimum reserves to go through the winter season.
Representatives from the Macedonian Government and the ESM/ELEM company, which runs REK Bitola, were in Pristina last week to try to negotiate a large purchase of coal, which could be difficult to execute mainly because of transportation issues. Macedonia required three million tons of coal over five years.
Today, Kosovan Government sources briefed the local media outlets that their KEK company is prepared to conclude a deal.
