The SDSM party gathering in Skopje on Wednesday was mercifully short on open mic opportunities for the ordinary party supporters, showing that SDSM is learning its lesson after allowing several overly excited sycophants to speak on live television.

But, Zoran Zaev was at hand to provide the evening entertainment. He and the singers supporting SDSM congratulated their presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski on his birthday with a song and confetti. Then Zaev gave his speech in which he declared Pendarovski to be the “anchor which will pull us forward”.

Let’s finally elect a President, let’s get our rudder, let’s get our anchor which will pull us forward, Zaev said, revealing his lack of knowledge of nautical terms.
