It will be very hard to prove if and which of the expensive cancer drugs were stolen and used elsewhere, Dr. Nikola Panovski, professor at the Medicine School of the University in Skopje, commented on the latest scandal on the Oncology Clinic.

“This is the most inhumane type of robbery, second only to war crimes and concentration camps. Even Mengele did some good for the civilization with his experiments. Where the ampoules ended – each one worth over €4,000 – is very hard to discover. First, the institutions must establish why the manager removed the CATO system for the distribution of the drugs. During this kind of public pressure, the employees won’t be afraid to talk, especially if they are included as protected witnesses. It won’t be an easy procedure”, Dr. Panovski thinks.
