On Thursday, the Government made a decision to temporarily suspend short-stay visas (Visa C) for third-country foreign nationals who possess a valid visa from Britain, the United States, or Canada.

Effective for the entirety of 2024, this decision revokes short-term visas for foreign nationals carrying passports from third countries while holding valid visas from Britain, the US, or Canada. These individuals are allowed a stay of up to 15 days in Macedonia, and the visa’s validity should extend 5 days beyond the planned duration of their stay in the country, as outlined in the Government’s press release.

According to details provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a similar temporary cancellation of these visas was implemented from 2016 to 2023. Due to the observed positive impact on attracting foreign tourists and enhancing business interactions, the decision has been recommended for adoption in 2024 as well.
