The often lawless village of Grcec near Skopje has been left without electricity for two days – the result of the extremely low bill collection rate.
Villagers from the area that became notorious as a base for international drug gangs complain that EVN Macedonia is reducing supply and is citing technical issues with the network. The company says that its teams can’t work in Grcec, because they are often faced with threats and attacks from the locals.
